Connecting People to God by Inviting them to Follow Jesus.
There is a great old bridge in our town. It was erected in 1867, in order to connect two major cities, Hartford and Springfield. The connection of these two cities represented commerce, trade and potential growth. Windsor's industry benefited greatly because of their ability to bridge the gap. Today, the bridge stands as a living testimony to the past, a monument in the present and a lesson for the future. Bridges connect the disconnected.
In many ways, this beautiful local bridge represents why our church exists. In short, Grace exists to connect people to God. Connection to God comes through our Lord Jesus Christ. Grace bridges the gap, connecting separated parties. Man is separated from God by sin, yet Jesus built a bridge of Grace to connect people to God. That's why we are here in Windsor!
"Connecting People to God by Inviting them to Follow Jesus." These 10 words truly describe our church. This is our DNA. This is our heartbeat. This is why we are here and this is who we are. This is our Mandate! We exist to connect people to God by inviting them to follow Jesus.
In the Old Testament, Moses encountered God through a burning bush. God told this shepherd, a former prince, to go down to Egypt and tell Pharaoh to, "Let My people go!"
In that moment, Moses was given a clear mission from God! The Lord gave Moses a compass and a command, "Go and Tell..." And Moses did just that.
At Grace, we have met God in the burning bush. We have received our compass and command. Our direction is set and our mission is known- We are striving to connect people to God by inviting them to follow Jesus.
